Another Great Finish

I saw today's game in person. Wow, what a thrilling game! The Niners looked sharp on their opening drive and then looked lousy the rest of the first half. But they fought back in the second half. Shaun Hill channeled a bit of Joe Montana in that last drive. Singletary clearly has them going in the right direction.

I sincerely hope he can keep it going next season.

Happy New Year everyone. :)

I wish I could have seen it but it seems we no longer have a local team down here (central coast) for the 15 years I have lived here it has always been the Niners. Listened to a bit of it on the radio because it was starkey's last game and wanted to ear it but I got caught up enjoying watching the Cowboys get their asses handed to them everytime I turned around Romo or somebody was turning it over and the Eagles were picking it up and scoring. Sorry this is a Niners conversation Im digressing into games I can watch

I think you are right Singletary has these guys going in the right direction. I really think the turning point away from this last horrible decade was that moment he pulled Vernon Davis from the game and declared in the press conference "The first rule is we go out and punch em in the mouth"

I don't know about you all, there are times I wish the season was a bit longer. They just seem to have a bit of momentum going on now.

I suspect a lot of Niner fans feel the same way. Watching the team yesterday I got the sense they were close to being a playoff team. Then again, I felt the same way two years ago when they also finished 7-9. :) It will be interesting to see how Mike handles the draft and if he can build on the positives. I do know that I and everyone else there yesterday saw an exciting game. It's been quite awhile since I could say that about a 49er game. *g*

Coach, I got to hear the very end of Starkey's broadcast. He thanked everyone he'd worked with and got all choked up. He may not have been the greatest play by play announcer around (who the hell is?), but I always enjoyed his broadcasts and I'll miss listening to him. At least he'll still do Cal games.
